We Are a Young Earth

Jay Schabacker tells us that

‘We Are Not Long On This Earth’

(Spring 2019 from HarperCollins Christian Publishing)

Schabacker’s research of ‘what the scientists have to say’ has led to a sweeping rebuke of what the Evolutionists want us to believe about life of animals and man on this Earth.

We are a Young EarthWe are recent!

In his book, ‘Creation Class: Scientists Speak About the Biblical Creation’, the work of many Creationist PhD scientists is well documented. And to mention just one subject area, the scientists are very forthcoming  – about Genetics and Mutations.

Geneticists Dr. John Sanford and Dr. James Crow agree that mutations which occur in species reproduction are always deleterious – not helpful to the long term survival of the species.

To explain further, mutations are errors in the transfer (or copying) of genetic building information from father to son. The errors in the transfer of information always exist (although seemingly small).

One way to look at these mutation errors – is analogous to word processing errors which arise in the copying of a text. There can be substitutions, deletions, insertions, duplications, etc. But, God doesn’t have a spell check function. Another analogy is when you use a copy machine to photo copy a document. Somehow in the copy machine mechanism there often is a small error transmitted. The copy becomes ever so slightly different than the original. Copying is not perfect in reproduction of a species as it is not perfect in reproduction of a view on paper. At the 300th copy the buildup of errors really becomes a problem!

Dr. John Sanford has stated, ‘all evidence points to human genetic deterioration, (the genome is the entire genetic content of an organism – the ‘instruction manual’). The very consistent nature of mutations to erode information helps us to see that the genome must deteriorate’.

But, how much and how fast?

Lande and Lynch et al concluded in 1994 ‘very slight deleterious mutations can rapidly drive a population to extinction’.

Dr. Crow has stated, ‘even when the mutation rate is low (less than one per person per generation) the average fitness of an individual in the population plummets to zero in just 300 generations (the species goes extinct).

More on how much and how fast!

In a paper by geneticists, Dr. Mark Stoeckle and Dr. David Thaler, who are evolutionary scientists, they determined that the lifespan of any living species (because of mutations in reproduction) can be no greater than 100,000 to 200,000 years – then they are extinct. This includes all far-flung populations – from ants, to rats, to monkeys, to humans. They then concluded that nine out of ten species on Earth today must have come into being (got their start) no longer than 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.

Or, put another way, life on Earth cannot be more than 100,000 to 200,000 years old. Think young Earth. It follows that, another observation may be made. Our species, Homo Sapiens, cannot exist for more than 100,000 to 200,000 on this Earth.

We are not long on this Earth!

The scientists talked about Mutations (as explained above), in Schabacker’s ‘Creation Class: Scientists Speak about the Biblical Creation’. The also talked about Earth’s Geographical Features, Earth’s Timeline, Radiometric Age Dating, Fossils Record, Man and Apes – their Ancestry, and the Solar System.

The scientists and Schabacker tell us why we are a ‘young earth’ – thousands of years old, not millions or billions of years old. The valid theory is Creation, not Evolution.

Schabacker then tells us what we folks on the earth should do – get our kids taught Creation alongside of Evolution in our public schools.

A personal message from Jay Schabacker

How did I get started in this adventure?

We are a Young Earth

We were traveling the Lewis and Clark trail and came upon a destination we always wished to visit—Mount Saint Helens. The eruption on May 18, 1980, of that mountain in the state of Washington was something historical—especially for scientists who try to explain our earth’s recent history through catastrophes. Not actually scientists, but Christians with a seeking mind, my wife, Nancy, and I found the site exciting. At the end of the tour, I approached the salesperson and asked if they had any books with a Christian view of the catastrophism shown by Mt. St. Helens; the reply, to my chagrin, was “I’m sorry, sir, but we only carry books by scientists.”

I was taken aback, to say the least, hence the idea to write this essay that started with the goal of researching what advanced level scientists had to say about Mount Saint Helens – and the Biblical Creation.

It was a lot!
